TYPE OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER ABC DRY POWDER
- Capable of extinguishing fire from all fire classes namely A, B, C, D, E and F.
- Can be use for various locations and places.
TYPE OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER CARBON DIOXIDE
- CO2 are capable to extinguish fire from fire classes B, C, E and F.
- It is clean from any dirt such as dust and others.
- Suitable for locations such as electrical switch rooms, electronics and kitchens.
HOW MANY UNITS OF FIRE EXTINGUISHER DO YOU NEED FOR YOUR BUSINESS PREMISES?
For every 500 square feet of space, you need 1 unit of fire extinguisher.
Example: Shop lot buildings are usually 1100 square feet, so you need a minimum of 2 or 3 units.
If a fire occurs at the front, you can use the safest unit which is the unit at the middle or back.
How to calculate feet to square feet :
Length x Width (space / building)
For example: Your shop space is 55 feet long and 20 feet wide.
What is the area in square feet?
55 ft x 20 ft = 1100 sq feet
FIRE EXTINGUISHER PREPARATION GUIDELINES
- Fire extinguishers are one of the building's fire safety installations which are enshrined in the provisions of the Undang-Undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984 dan Akta Perkhidmatan Bomba1988 (Akta 341).
- Each unit for non-domestic use (such as in factories and offices) must be registered with the Jabatan Bomba through a registered contractor.
- Premise must properly keep the Material Certification Certificate issued by the Fire Department for registered units and renew it every year.
- You must paste the Barcode Sticker supplied by the Jabatan Bomba for each registered unit on the fire extinguisher cylinder.
